33:3 Privacy Policy

33:3 is a journaling app that answers each entry with one Bible verse. We built it so your journal is yours: no account, no cloud copy, no analytics, no ads, no data sales. This policy lists everything the app collects, stores, or sends — there is not much, and we name all of it.
The short version
- Your journal lives on your phone, in a local database. We never have a copy.
- To choose a verse, your entry is sent once, encrypted, to our relay and on to our AI provider to select a Bible reference. It is processed in memory for that one request and is never stored, logged, or used for analytics, advertising, or training by us.
- We collect no name, email, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers, and we use no analytics or advertising SDKs, no cookies, and no trackers — in the app or on this website.

That is the complete list. The app contains no other data collection.
Our AI provider
Verse selection is performed by a large language model from Anthropic via its API. The model is asked only to return Bible references; every verse you read is rendered from the copy of the public-domain Bible stored inside the app (World English Bible, King James Version, or Berean Standard Bible, your choice in Settings). Anthropic's API terms govern its handling of text during processing (see anthropic.com/legal); we do not permit the text to be used to train models on our behalf. Crisis entries
If an entry appears to indicate a crisis, the app shows crisis resources (such as the 988 Lifeline) before the verse. The signal comes back in the same single verse request, and a non-AI detector also runs on your device. Nothing extra is sent, and nothing about it is recorded anywhere but on your device.
Phone backups
If your device backs up app data (iCloud, Google), your journal may be included in that backup, under your control and your provider's policies. Export any time from Settings.
Children
33:3 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your rights, and how to exercise them
- A copy of your data: Settings → Download journal produces a complete plain-text copy of everything the app holds — because everything it holds is on your phone. We have no server-side copy to produce.
- Deletion: Settings → Delete all data erases your journal, streaks, settings, drafts, exported files, and scheduled reminders from the device, permanently. Our relay holds nothing about you to delete except IP-keyed rate counters that expire on their own within 40 days and cannot be tied to your journal.
- Subscriptions: manage, cancel, or request refunds through Apple or Google. To ask us to delete the anonymous purchase record held with RevenueCat, email us.
- Anything else: email support@333journal.com. We answer privacy requests within 30 days, and usually much faster.

Updates are posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app.
