1. What 33:3 is

33:3 is a journaling app. You write or dictate an entry, and the app responds with one Bible verse, shown word for word from a public-domain Bible stored inside the app (the World English Bible by default; the King James Version and the Berean Standard Bible can be chosen in Settings). Your journal is stored on your device, not on our servers.

2. 33:3 uses artificial intelligence

We say this plainly: parts of 33:3 are powered by AI, and here is exactly which parts.

• Receive a verse (verse selection). When you tap "Receive a verse," your entry text (up to 4,000 characters), your selected mode, and a list of up to 20 recently shown verse references are sent over an encrypted connection to our relay server and on to Anthropic, our AI provider, where a large language model selects Bible verse references for your entry. That is everything that is sent — no name, no email, no device identifier. The model returns references only; the verse text you read is always rendered from the copy of the Bible stored inside the app. The model's words are never shown to you as Scripture.
• Jesus Mode (Premium). The same request, with an added constraint that the selected verses be words spoken by Jesus. The same data is sent; the same rules apply.
• Crisis screening. The same single AI request also returns a signal indicating whether your entry may describe a crisis (such as thoughts of self-harm). If it does, the app shows crisis resources before any verse. A second, non-AI phrase detector runs entirely on your device as a backup, including offline.
• Voice journaling (dictation). The microphone button uses your device's speech recognition (Apple's on iOS, typically Google's on Android) to turn your speech into text you can edit before sending. This is your operating system's AI feature, governed by its policies; we never receive or store audio.

Everything else in the app — the Journal, Be still, streaks, Restoration, reminders, share cards — involves no AI and works without sending anything anywhere.

3. AI can be wrong

AI output can be inaccurate. The verse selected for your entry may be a poor fit, mismatched in tone, or simply not what you needed; the "read in full" chapter view exists so you can see every verse in its context. Crisis screening may miss a crisis or flag an entry that is not one. Dictation may transcribe your words incorrectly; review the text before sending. The one thing that is never AI-generated is the verse text itself, which is reproduced verbatim from the translation you have chosen, stored inside the app.

4. Not professional advice

33:3 is not counseling, therapy, or medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or pastoral advice, and it is not a substitute for any of those or for emergency services. If you are in danger or crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis line now — in the US, call or text 988. Decisions you make remain your own responsibility.

5. Your journal

You own what you write. It is stored on your device; we do not store it. Export it or delete it any time in Settings. Uninstalling the app deletes it from your device. Device backups you control (iCloud, Google) may include it.

6. Subscriptions

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription: annual (with a free trial where offered) or monthly. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation and at each renewal until cancelled. Cancel any time in your Apple or Google subscription settings; you keep access until the end of the paid period. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. We never offer weekly billing. Where a trial is active, we send a local reminder before it converts if reminders are permitted.

7. Free tier

The daily entry and its verse, crisis resources, and Be still are free and will remain free. We may change what Premium includes with notice.

8. Acceptable use

Do not abuse, disrupt, or overload the service, probe or circumvent its limits, or use it to harm others. We may rate-limit or refuse service to keep it available for everyone. You must be at least 13 to use 33:3.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the app, these terms, or discontinue features. Material changes to these terms will be noted in the app; continued use after an update means acceptance. You can stop using 33:3 at any time; your journal remains yours to export or delete.

10. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that verse selection will be apt, that crisis screening will catch every crisis, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits or data; and our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the app is capped at the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $33. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Florida unless applicable law provides otherwise.
